The latest issue of the newsletter is now online

The latest issue of the newsletter is now available on the SNLG website.

This issue includes an overview of the new collaboration with the Italian pediatric society aimed at elaborating evidence-based guidelines following the SNLG methodology, and two recent documents: the Methodological handbook “How to organize a Consensus Conference” and the leaflet “Tonsils: when and how to remove them”, the version for general public of the guideline on tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy published in 2008.

The issue includes also an interview to Serena Donati, researcher in the women’s and evolutionary age health unit of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS), about the SNLG guideline on the caesarean section. The guideline will be divided in two sections, the first one is about to be published.

The newsletter includes a second interview to Maurella Della Seta, head of the Documentation Unit of the ISS, who explains the tasks faced by documentalists and their role in the guideline development process.

The issue includes also a focus on the residential and distant training activities carried out by the SNLG during 2009.
Finally a summary of the stage reached by each guideline currently under development by the SNLG, including the one on chronic kidney disease presented in an introductive article.
