The 2010 Course in Epidemiology opens to all health professionals of the National Health System

The 2010 edition of the course “Epidemiology, clinical practice and use of the scientific literature” will not be reserved to physicians and nurses (as in 2009 edition), but participation will be extended to all health professionals of the National Health System.

The course will last four days, from the 26th to the 30th of April 2010, in the Aula G.B. Rossi of the Italian National Institute of Health, via Giano della Bella 34, Rome.

Participants will be required to know the basics of epidemiological measures of frequency and risk (incidence, prevalence, relative risk, odds ratio) and of the basic concept of statistical significance test.

The course is based on class lessons and workgroups using personal computers and the Internet.

Participation is free and restricted to a number of 30 participants.

To apply to the course a registration form must be submitted online on the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS) website before April 9, 2010 to allow the selection of participants.
The form must be filled in and submitted online, and a printed copy must be sent via fax to the number: 0039 06 4990 4170.
In case the online registration is not available, a printable version of the application form can be downloaded from the ISS website, filled in, signed and sent to the technical secretariat. The participants selected for participation will receive a letter of notification.

Participant are required to attend the lessons and at the end of the course will receive a certificate.

ECM credits will be requested for all professions.
