Basic epidemiology course starting in may

The National Center of Epidemiology, surveillance and health promotion of the Italian National Institute of Health organizes the 2010 basic epidemiology course for health professionals involved in epidemiological activities.

The course will be held from may 17 to may 21, 2010 at the Italian National Institute of Health, G.B. Rossi Room, via Giano della Bella 34, Rome.

The course will provide a basic knowledge of epidemiology, presenting the main risk measures, analysing the design of observational studies and clinical trials and presenting examples based on real cases.

Taught classes will be alternated to practical exercises based on the discussion and analysis of epidemiological studies.

The course is free of charge, frequency is required and a certificate will be provided to all participants.

The duration of the course is 40 hours, devided in 5 days.

Registrations will be open on the ISS website until April 6, 2010, to a maximum of 40 participants.
